Kaspersky EARTH 2050
In collaboration with Kaspersky Lab, we launched a large-scale interactive project exploring the future of our planet and the evolving role of technology in our lives. EARTH 2050 was designed as a forward-looking tool to help us imagine what lies ahead—and to better prepare for it.

“Where is it written that one should only care about big things?”
David Brin is an American scientist and author of science fiction. He has won the Hugo, Locus, Campbell, and Nebula Awards. His novel The Postman was adapted into a 1997 feature film starring Kevin Costner.
In 2018 David Brin became a part of the project the Earth 2050 as an author of the content. Everyone can read his predictions, stories, forecasts, and ideas can even watch them through VR, go down the streets of cities in 360-panoramas as you do it on Google Streetview, or even interact with some inventions.
Making the content
The project has been launched with a few cities but in the following years, the number of locations, predictions, and articles tripled. And it still rising.
Global project
It means that we involved tech-lovers from around the globe. You can find mentions and discussions about the Earth 2050 in the Middle East and Asia.
We managed to build not only an encyclopedia of the future, but a community of enthusiasts.
About the project
OBJECTIVE
To promote Kaspersky on a global scale, raise awareness about future cybersecurity challenges, and create an engaging platform tailored to a niche audience.
BACKGROUND
What does the future hold? In the years ahead, nearly everything around us—from transportation and household appliances to even our clothing—will be connected to the internet. But with this connectivity comes risk. How can we protect these technologies from hackers, viruses, and data breaches?
IDEA
As our world rapidly evolves, we invite people to start thinking about cybersecurity today. On the platform, the planet is divided into geographic zones, each featuring forecasts on different aspects of future society. Many locations are brought to life with futuristic illustrations and immersive 360° panoramas.
Designers, illustrators, and artists are welcome to contribute their own visions of the future by uploading original works—joining the project alongside some of the world’s leading futurists.
